How can I migrate tez, tokens and NFTs from a Galleon file wallet account to a Ledger Live account?

Getting started with a new device

  1. To get started, you will need a Ledger hardware wallet that can be found here: Ledger Nano X - Secure your crypto | Ledger

  2. Follow the steps on your Ledger to initialize and set up your device.

  3. Download and install Ledger Live for your OS. You can do so here: https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404389606417?docs=true

Adding a Tezos account to your hardware wallet

  1. Install the Tezos app on your device. You can find the precise detailed steps under the section titled,
    Install the Tezos Wallet app on your Ledger device : https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016057774-Tezos-XTZ-?support=true

  2. Add a Tezos account by clicking on “Add Account”

  3. Select the “Receive” button on the top right

  4. Confirm this action on your Ledger

  5. This will reveal your new deposit address that you can copy for the migration.

Migrate tokens, NFTs and tez

  1. Open your existing wallet file on Galleon.

  2. Send Tokens to your new address. Select each token you own from the right panel and then on the send tab and enter your new hardware wallet address in the recipient field.

  3. Send your NFTs to your new address. Select the NFT gallery tab, select your NFT and then on the send tab enter your new hardware wallet address in the recipient field. If you have NFTs on OBJKT you can use their site to send NFTs you own to any new address as well.

  4. Send your Tez to your new address. Select “Manager Address” on the right panel to navigate back home. Select the send tab and enter your new hardware wallet address in the recipient field. Select “use max” when sending these funds.

**Start with sending your tokens and NFTs to this new address so that you have enough gas funds later to send your funds.
